Ten Things

I have been tagged by Zmaga to tell you all ten random things about myself! So bear with me while I try to think up some random, interesting things about me.....

one. I love to travel! I have been so blessed with many, many opportunities to explore the world :) I have been to a variety of states including New York and Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, Australia, England (twice!), and France. I am hoping to go somewhere new soon! In France, 2008
two. I graduated high school early this past summer by taking the CHSPEE (California High School Exit Exam). If I had not, I would be a senior right now; instead, I am going to a community college, getting my General Ed out of the way. I hope to transfer to a four-year university sometime next year.

three. I have taken three American Sign Language classes at my community college over the past year and a half, and I love it. I am basically fluent now! There's just something about ASL that fascinates me and I really want to pursue a career where I can use it to help people.ASL Alphabet
four. This may sound strange, but sometimes I feel like I am more mature than regular people my age.. Maybe I"m just not easily amused by stupid stuff that people do. I don't know what it is, but I suppose it's a good thing at times. There are times when I would rather chat with people in their 20s and 30s than teenagers. Haha

five. I think I'm going to start writing in this Georgia font. It looks vintage-y or something. Haha, I like it :)

six. Right now, I have nothing productive going on and I feel like it's sort of making me go crazy. I'm the type of person who needs structure and a set schedule because otherwise I get nothing done. School starts in about three weeks, and my job starts back up in about two, so until then.. Haha

seven. People have told me countless times that I should be a model, but I just don't have that desire. Sure, maybe I am tall, pretty, and have good skin (on a good day), but I know that's not all it takes. You have to have that passion and drive to make it. And honestly, I don't mind not being a model. I bet it would be fun to go on different shoots and have people doll you up so you look amazing but it's just not me and that's ok :) (Although I do have fun dolling myself up and doing silly little photo shoots with my best friend. Hehe)eight. Today I just realized Natasha Bedingfield's brother, Daniel, goes to my church. :) I've seen him around a bunch and he sang karaoke one night at this thing we have after church, where people were going on and on saying, "Ooh, he sings that song! 'Gotta get thru this, I gotta get thru thisss..' Wow, OMG!" But I didn't even realize who he was until I saw his page on Facebook. I want to meet him! Haha, so YAY for living in Southern California where rock stars are just around the corner :)nine. I am honestly not good at being random at the drop of a hat. I need to have time to think. Occasionally I will be, but it's not typical. This also ties in with me being terrible at keeping small talk going. For some reason, I usually cannot come up with topics to talk about with someone I don't really know, unless I know we have something in common. As long as the person I"m talking to keeps the conversation rolling, I am ok, though :) Haha, I just need some guidance.

ten. My name is actually Kathryne, but I thought it would be fun to go by Kate in the blogosphere :) No one really calls me Kate normally, but I think when I'm older I may want people to. I think it beats out Kathy (EW! gag.) or Kat (ehh..). My mom named me after Katharine Hepburn, but twisted the spelling into something new :)
Well I hope that wasn't too snoozing of a read. :)
So, now I am supposed to tag seven people to do this as well, but I don't even have seven people to tag!
Haha sad.. Well, here are a few:

Emily Anne from Like Lilly Vintage
Hannah from Sixteen Going on Seventy
Chester from Zebra Stripes and Runaway Kites

Have fun!
xo, Kate

Daniel Bedingfield goes to your church?!! How random and awesome! hahaha. I thought he lived in England. I actually know his song, too. Not my kind of music but I somehow got it in my head!
