Hello! Yes, I am still alive and well ;) I sure do miss being up-to-date with everyone. It's only been a few weeks, but it may as well be a few years!
I've been pretty great lately, besides my laptop still being in remission and not having any batteries for my camera. I'm just trying to enjoy my last week and a half of summer. I have some fun things coming up with my boyfriend to do just that, like having a picnic in a beautiful park tomorrow evening, a trip to the beach on Saturday, and an excursion to Knott's Berry Farm next week. Hopefully I'll capture some of these happenings on camera to post. :)
I can't believe it's already time to start getting up early and sitting through lectures. My class selection should be somewhat interesting though: Social Science, Theatre 101, Ethnic Studies, and ASL 103. Are you looking forward to any of your classes this fall?

So, I have seen a few really great movies in these past few weeks. I thought I'd share!
First off, I saw (500) Days of Summer. I though it was spectacular! I think it may be my new favorite. :) The cast, the wardrobe, the soundtrack, the thoughtful scenes, and witty remarks.. It was just lovely. My boyfriend really liked this movie too, so it's not just a chick flick! I adore Zooey Deschanel anyway, so it was hard not to love her in this role. And Joseph Gordon-Levitt isn't so bad either! They're both great actors and I loved their relationship. I could relate to a few things too. Oh, and I loved the music so much, I bought the soundtrack and haven't listened to anything else since! I absolutely recommend both the movie and soundtrack.
Next, I saw Julie&Julia. I thought it was a really sweet film. Amy Adams did well in her role and Meryl Streep was fabulous as Julia Child. I thought the chemistry between Meryl and her on-screen husband, Stanley Tucci, was so believable and kind. At times the movie did seem to drag on, but maybe that's just me. It was fun how it switched back and forth to the two story lines though. Oh, and the food looked ravishing! It made me want to cook. Sort of.
Finally, last night I saw Paper Heart. It was a pretty cute film. I've heard it been called a "mockumentary" and that's definitely what it is. Charlyne Yi was amusing, but sometimes her naivety and awkwardness (which I know must be deliberate, right?) made me feel slightly embarrassed for her. Of course Michael Cera was his usual, nerd-awesome self and his one-liners and comments made the film worthwhile for me. He's just so hilarious. I thought the interviews throughout the movie were really sweet, but it made me wonder what was real or not since it's not an actual documentary. All in all, her quest to learn about love was fun to watch and I enjoyed it.
Have you seen any of these? I'd love to hear what you thought about them!
Anyway, thanks for sticking with me during my little "hiatus," if you'd even call is that. I can't believe I gained a few more followers despite my lack of posting. Almost to 50! I hope to get back into the swing of things soon. :)
Take care!

There is nothing that I need to do more than see (500) Days of Summer. Preferably with a cute boy. I'm obsessed with Zooey Deschanel - she's amazing!
And no, I'm not looking forward to any of my classes as they are all of the mathematics variety. Blech! :)
